I had a duffle coat like that when I was in CND in the 80s! Essential wear for the anti-nuclear girl about town. Did you get people telling you to go back to Russia, like we did?
I saw Bruce Kent talk in my local church hall in the 80s. Imagine how tickled I was when I discovered he lived round the corner from me in Harringay, 20 odd years later.

What a beautiful sunny winters day and isn't it clean around Turnpike Lane tube station.

Hi Matt,
As I remember it was a cold day handing out those leaflets.
However I fancied Ruth (2nd from left) so that kept me warm!

And Hi Liz, yes, duffle coats were the desired garb. I only managed in ex-govt surplus.
Yes, got told to go to Russia too, hehe!

I was on several of the Aldermarston marches and sat near to Bertrand Russell and he was a frequent visitor to friends in a bungalow near here - Middleton on Sea in W. Sussex.

I still have my old CND badge which I wear on suitable occasions.

A great photo Roy .. thank you. At last I'm seeing a photo of the "Umbrella" which everyone knew as a meeting place in the 50s. And isn't that a Standard Vanguard in the background (behind the beehive hairdo)?
