Sometime in the early 60s it was the scene of a tragic accident when a man fell in front of a train. For a while we (local hacks) and police thought it was suicide but it turned out someone saw the man from the Hogs Back and he was clearly either not well or drunk and merely fell. Dreadful timing though.
