And so, from about  1955 yo 1959 I was the evening paper boy at this shop and occasional morning paper boy. The boss also used me as a knocker up when the regular lad was away. Knocking up was a 5 a,m. job putting the paper in to order for the boys to deliver.

My evening round started with three paper to deliver to about 50 houses- Star, News and Standard but the Star died when the Daily Sketch folded in 55/56 I think. That I did on a push bike.

I also did a Sunday round which was even then heavy and got worse as the colour supplements started to appear.

Even back then shop names were overtaken by advertising banners. Do you remember the shop's/shop owner's name?

I wish. It was run by a married couple. I would hesitate to be sure but Frank rings a bell.
