I was sent this image by Tim Keating. Tim wrote:
As a fan of Dr Who, I insisted on having my photo taken with the TARDIS at the Manor House Gate of Finsbury Park. This was roughly summer 1969. On the show, the TARDIS was identical on all four sides. So I was surprised to find that the rear, although indented like the other sides, had no windows or other features. Pipes ran from lower down that side to the pavement. Maybe one day this Police Box will rematerialise, having taken a few seconds to cross the years!!!
I wonder when the box was removed.
Tim has asked me to publish his email address - keatingwrite@yahoo.com

Excellent, can we share on FB?
This box was apparently active 1937-1970.

Tina, thanks for asking. My assumption is that once something's published on HoL it's open to republication anywhere. Though, as with any internet republication, a credit to the authour, and if the original publisher woull be appreciated.
Allen, thanks. Do you know why Hornsey, Wood Green and Tottenham boroughs aren't included?
It says 'map created by a user' so I'm guessing it's some police box enthusiast who's adding to it as they progress... It seems like there were lots of those boxes around!
Sounds likely. Impressed that you found it!
There was one sited outside The Oakwood Laundry on Green Lanes, almost opposite Beresford Road.
Seem to recall another in Turnpike Lane / Duckett's Common area. From my memory, 1959 - 70, they were widely distributed.
I remember the police box at Ducketts common/ Turnpike lane and right behind it was the "tea shed". They sold smashing hot pies, just the job after a cold day playing footie on the common.
Those old OS Maps are great
