The original St Mary's Church was probably formed in the thirteenth century. Ths history of building on the site is well documented. The last church was demolished in 1969 and the parishioners moved to the church hall half way down the High Street for twelve years. Then in 1982, the parishioners joined St George’s Church in Cranley Gardens, N8, and the two congregations became one as St Mary with St George, Hornsey’s parish church.
This modern church by Randall Morris on Cranley Gadens was consecrated in 1959. The 16th-century font from St. Mary’s was moved from the old to the new church.
I rather like the interior. The photo below is a phone snap from 2022.
