Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Dylan Thomas House and Hornsey Carriage Sidings, 1972
Whist the focus of this picture is railway sidings, my interest in it was the picture of Dylan Thomas House in the background. This unlovely council tower block was built just to the south of Turnpike Lane hard against the railway line in 1964. It was demolished, I think in the Nineties, when the Denmark Road development was set out.
You can just make out the Hornsey gas holders on the left of the picture.

I always remember the static cariages to the left of the bridge, coming from Hornsey High st. I think ? these are they viewed from the gasometers?

Yes, you can see them behind the train sheds. This is to the north of Turnpike Lane.
