Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

This church stood on Crouch Hill from 1873 to 1961.

I'm assuming this was taken from the end of Shaftesbury Road. There is still a church on the site and if you explore go Street View, you'll see that there is still a part of the old church remaining. Go up the northernmost spur of Holly Park. (The two spurs used to be joined as a crescent, but for some reason were separated when the areas was developed for public housing in the 1960s).

See this church in its street context here.

I saw a photo  looking up Crouch Hill  in 'Archway Revisited' and remembered passing as a child on the 212 bus, and seeing 2 churches close to each other at Holly Park and this was one of them. It's about where Ilex House is now. Thanks...

PS. Can I use the pic above on their site, please?

Alan, Thanks for your comment. I'd forgotten about this picture when I posted another picture a few weeks ago. That newer one sounds similar to the one you saw in Archway Revisited. I've linked to the other photo under the text above.

May I ask what site you want to use the photo for?
