To me this is a true example of how some things do not improve. Back in the day the cinema was a cultural and social hub - films, news, tea, chat and food - a real place to be and be seen. Today its quick queue, one movie and out!

Love that movie. And that is how I first saw the Gaumont as it was in my days. This and the Astoria at Finsbury Park were the pinnacle of cinemas in our area. But we were spoilt for choice with two in Harringay, one more at Turnpike Lane and another a short bus ride away  atop Muswell Hill.
