Incidentally, at the junction of Seven Sisters Road (where it crosses the New River) and Amhurst Road there stood a large house that in the 50’s burned down in a dramatic fashion. Fireworks were being manufactured or stored there – I think we know the outcome.
Vivian House stands there now.
