Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Manor House Junction Wayfinder Post

I'm guessing that this image is late 1940s / early 1950s, but what interested me is the now long gone London Transport wayfinder post in the middle of the junction.

And in response to Roy's comments about Cobbles on the Manor House Junction..  I also tried to post this on the photo to no success.

The cobbles on the Junction itself lasted until the mid 1960s.

Edmonton's Leyland K1 Trolleybus 1242 has been curtailed to run to Islington Green rather than to Smithfield.

Wood Green's Leyland K1 1259 is working back to Wood Green Depot at the end of the evening peak period. It still has to run to Edmonton Town Hall, back to Tottenham Hale and then via Bruce Grove and Lordship Lane to Wood Green.

Finchley's Metro Cammel L1 1513 has been driven too fast over the crossover and a trolley boom has come off the wire. The passengers sit helplessly on the junction until the driver gets the boom back on to the power.
The Leyland trolleybuses dating from 1938 have rectangular front windows upstairs. The Metro Cammell dating from 1939/40 rounded windows.

The Wayfinder only shows places reachable from Manor House by public transport.

Southend was served from Manor House by the City Bus service from Kentish Town via Wood Green to Southend. This service was later cut back to Wood Green.

I have some 1930s timetables in my collection.
