Astonishingly fertile year was 1905 for pictures. May I guess a significant development in the technology adjacent?

The Edwardian period saw an explosion in what you might call everyday photography and in particular of postcards. It is the mass production on these postcards that enabled the survival of so many images from this era.

Postcards were the social media of the day  with a fast and efficient postal service and 6 deliveries a day, it was possible to send a card in the morning and have it delivered the same afternoon. Such A rapid written communication service wasn’t available to the general population again until the age of the internet.

I use c1905 as shorthand for at some point in the mid-Edwardian period.
