Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
You wait for a Bus.....Manor House Junction, c1925
This is probably the most recent picture of the old Manor House pub that I've seen. It must have been taken just a few years before it was rebuilt and the Piccadilly Line arrived.
Notice the sign on the southern side of the old pub and the terrace of houses extending beyond the Finsbury. Beyond it are the tree along the boundary of Northumberland House.
(Thanks to Glenn and Stephen, the title of this picture has now been edited to reflect the fact the the vehicles pictures are buses and not trams and that the date is c1925, not c1920. Also It was not apparently taken from a tram as the information I was given stated).

Another Harringay Group of Routes to use the NS type vehicles was the 124/124A which ran daily from Pimlico via Victoria and today's route 24 to Camden Town, the 29 to Turnpike Lane, via Westbury Avenue and 144 to the Angel, Edmonton and on to Ponders End.
The 124/124A was worked by West Green Garage (WG) on Willow Walk. It was a victim of the introduction of the Trolleybuses in 1938 and was replaced by the then new route 144 between Turnpike Lane & Edmonton, Angel.
NS302 Seen on Whitehall on it's way from Harringay (and Edmonton) to Pimlico in 1937. It carries the later style of destination boards, mentioned above.

The houses where the buses are lined up are still there to this day. The buses are blocking the entrance to the tram depot. Just to add there was an added build to the pub because the roof is different to this photo. I'm fairly certain that the trams were in operation in the beginning of the 1950's.

The Manor House pub as it is today,although it's a supermarket these days but in 1950 as I remember it the roof was always sloping and not flat like it is in this old photo. I'm sure someone will have the date when the roof build took place.

Not only was the roof line changed, but the pub has been extended to the north, over the site of some single and two-storey buildings just visible in the earlier photo.

The 1930s pub was a complete rebuild. You can see the buildings to the north of the pub from the rear in this painting.
