I remember Turnpike Press - think they moved to Edmonton/Enfield. Anyone remember Tunnys? I recognise the name but can’t remember what they sold.
Can’t read the names of the other shops.
Love this photo - part of my childhood home.

Tunny's  was a toy/model shop.

Love the architectural features and not an empty shop in sight.

The Turnpike Press (far right of photo) was run by Harry Kardo (Kardonovitch). My brother, Malcolm, served his apprenticeship there, to become a compositor. My father was a builder and decorator and Harry was one of his best customers.

Hi, Alan. Harry seems to have advertised regularly for the sort of roles Malcolm took at the Turnpike Press. I suppose it would be too much of a coincidence to imagine that one of these ads fits the date he started there.

Fascinating! Does anyone recall Topaz Jewellers which, in the mid to late 70's, was situated at number 8, I think? Any photos would be amazing
