Hornsey Open Air Swimming Pool c1930

The Hornsey Air Swimming Pool was opened on the 1st June 1929 on Park Road, Crouch End. The pool is still in service today.

I'm guessing that these probably well-to-do ladies are pulling a stunt about caring for the pool environment for a press photo. Either that of Hornsey Council had a most unusual team of pool caretakers!

In the background are the backs of the houses on the north side of Glasslyn Road.
