Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Taken from the Hampden Road end of the bridge at Hornsey Station. Smoke, soot, grime and coal dust everywhere. The local residents must have loved it!

If anyone is interested I can add more detail/history.

At the East end of the bridge, (to the left of the photograph) was the street entry to the sheds. On Sunday afternoons it was absolutely deserted, and possible to sneak past the entrance, below the sliding window, and go into the shed.

On occasion, led by an older sibling, we went down into the pits, under the engines itself. Great fun!

The lift was in the main ticket office towards the Tottenham lane end of the bridge!

I'm guessing those 'sheds' are alongside the New River which makes this to the right of the footbridge leading down into Hampden Rd.
