Are you sure this is 35? I lived at number 50 Warham Road from 1944 to about 1960 and it looks more like number 50 or most likely number 45.
Tony Rowsell
Thanks. You’re quite right. Typo. It’s number 45.
How much does a riverside house command these days I wonder ?
45 is actually back to front, the bay windows are in the garden which is why the front is an odd shape. From the back it is a double bay windowed house. It has hardly changed.
50 Warham Road!... coincidence Tony Rowsell I knew a family who lived their, surname of Adam from about 1961onwards, would you have known them?..great photo of No.50 ..any other interior or garden photos of this fine house. Thanks.
My mate's mate used to live in this house, number 45 ! Assuming 1945 - 70 era ? His name is Colin Servante.
He still lives locally and appears to have a wealth of knowledge of the area.
My mate, (Colin Phillips), and Colin Servante both attended South Harringay Junior. Colin S remained in touch with a teacher, Amy Diprose, into her 90's. He has a pic of SHJ school and can name most.
I will attempt to get a copy. A mentioned name was Colin Biford/Buford.
Hope this info instigates further conversation.
An aunty of Colin S lived top end of Fairfax (where prefabs were/are). She was killed when a V1hit her house.
He has a SHJ school pic and can name practically all. I will attempt to get a copy.
Thank you John Shulver for this info yes would like to see the SHJ school pic, many thanks.
