Thanks for adding these three photos, Roy. Was Uncle Horace a Harringay boy?

My dad's family were all born at the large family home in Priory Road, Hornsey. When he married between the wars he moved to a very grim flat I remember in Brownswood Road and then in 1949 to the splendid house 99 Seymour Road.

My corn merchant grandfather, Walter Horace Smith and grandmother Ada had five children.

Horace Walter, Hilda (Biddy), Dorothy (Dolly), Marie and my dad, the youngest, Arthur Gilmour.

Online family research is very difficult with the family name 'Smith' and common first names Walter and Horace! You may notice that the eldest son, Horace was named after his father with the first names reversed, which I'm told was common in those days.
