Interesting to me Hugh seeing as I lived just round the corner.  Would you be able to locate its whereabouts along the road ??  I'm trying to envisage that brick walling back to my time.  I would imagine most, if not all, the railings would have added to scrap scheme in WW2.  But thinking maybe that wall was boundary of biggish house on corner of Colina and Harringay Roads.

John, I'd guess that the wall is one of the original front garden walls from the south side of the road. The only house where that wall survives is No. 3. You can see that on Google Street View here - see the house with the pink front door.

This happened several years before digging started for the Piccadilly LIne Extension. So it was unlikely to be connected with the Underground.

Oh could be Hugh, I can see what you mean.  Such fancy ironwork fencing for what seems to be a rather insignificant side road (sincerely hope I've not caused offence by that).  And certainly no pun intended by use of the word ofFENCE !   Many visions of childhood memories shattered here.
