Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Holditch Butcher, West Green Road c1905
Holditch was based at 48 - 50 West Green Road in Seven Sisters. The shop is still a double premises today and is now trading as a pharmacy.

Gosh, yes, all those carcasses! Looking at old recipe books, it seems we did eat more meat then. In pre-fridge days I remember my mother examining joints of meat for flies' eggs. Unthinkable now.

I've just noticed the potted plants and vases of flowers on the pavement in front of the stalls. I guess that was seen as showing themselves at their best.
