Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hammonds Opticians was based at 659 Green Lanes, a few doors to the south of Falkland Road. It ran from 1932 till 1967 or 68.

We have an unusually detailed history for this site. Prior to Hammonds opening, 659 was the home fo Hollands Record shop for a couple of years and before that to the Caledonian Motor Carriage Company.

In the picture above, you can see the sign for the Constitutional Hall next door.
