No, from the age three or four, I went to a little private school named Alpha House, next to the alleys in Seymour Road. I've never been able to find out anything more about that school but I remember it had a religious bent and may have been attached to St Paul's Church somehow.
Then from the age of seven I was at South Harringay Primary. We lived in Seymour Road and that was somehow in between North and South Harringay Schools. Although it was N8, it was closer to Mattison Road so some kids went to South and others to North. My next-door neighbour John Greensmith went to North Harringay.
That means around 1944-1948 at Alpha House. 1948-1953 at South Harringay Primary.
I knew 105 Seymour Road very well indeed....
I had forgotten that Hugh came up with some marvellous photos of Alpha House School. There is a link to these above. I also posted some of the awe-inspiring work I produced there between the ages of four and seven, ha ha. I am pretty sure now it was linked to St Paul's and was probably some kind of charity school. My sister reminded me that there two Miss Wainwrights, sisters, and that the school was known not as Mrs Wainwright's but the Misses Wainwright's school.
