Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Harringay's Amazing Edwardian Zwicky Fire Engine

Swiss Engineer Jean Zwicky designed and hand-built this bleeding edge fire engine at the Tottenham Council works department in 1907. It cost, what was for the time an eye-watering £3,200.

Zwicky lived at 66 Chester Road in West Green.

No criticism intended! I tend to agree except where I detect the smack of jargonism! Plus, and having worked in It for a decade or so I saw this happen, some geeks misspeak and then elaborately justify a  word that others find amusing and adopt. A decade late it pops up in dictionaries as a 'new' meaning or usage. But I am old fashioned - dictionaries in my day led the way; now they follow fashion. And do not even mention 'slang' - it is 'informal now. And no one pays any heed. Rant over! Where's my meds....
