I think it's more likely to be 1950s - could even be early 1960s.. Trains like this were regular workers on the ECML and the cross-London freights Channelsea (Stratford) - Willeseden

BTW James, the engine number is a post Nationalisation (post 1948) one for the 'Eastern Region' of British Railways.
