In the foreground is what was known as 'Ferme Park Down Yard'. The photo was taken from the Hogs Back, where Chettle Court now stands. As a non-train enthusiast, I'm more interested in this image for what it tells us about the area in 1910 than I am about the railway connection.
To orientate yourself a little, towards the left of the picture in the centre ground, nestled in the 'd' of the watermark, you can just make out the twin spires of St Peter's Church on Wightman Road (now the Greek church). Further to the left you can see the gas cylinder behind Wood Green. To the left of that you can see the long bridge to Hornsey Station. The 200foot high chimney on the extreme left was the Hornsey Borough Electricity Works which. conveniently located near the railway for receiving the coal it burned. Behind it, you can just about make out Ally Pally.
