There is a really clear, blown up version of this photograph included in the outdoor exhibition in Finsbury Park. Hard as I've tried, I can't figure out where in the park this particular vista is situated.
Yes, apologies for the low res version. I have a full size high res version. But, my deal with Bruce Castle when I started publishing their photos was that I'd watermark them with Bruce Castle and only publish them low res. Same applied with the Hackney Archives photos of Manor House. Otherwise, I always choose to publish hi res versions and watermark them with HoL to make it more difficult for them to be taken and resold on ebay et al.
As to the location, I've always thought it was somwhere near the spot marked on the 1893 OS map, below.
Yes, looking at the path layout it seems about right!
