I remember when it was the corner shop.  Newsagents, Sweets, Drinks, Books, Toys.  Mr & Mrs Watts owned the corner shop and extended into the next shop.  We lived above the extension. Their son now lives in Waltham Abbey.

I did a paper round from the corner shop around 58/59 finally I was sacked after the owner got fed up with me being late . He was a decent man as I recall.

How sad to see the corner shop looking like that. I lived in Berseford rd. and the corner shop was the go to place for sweets and comics. Great memories.

I remember that shop but as kids we used to call it Allisons. I don't know the reason it was called that, it was probably because of the road name and it just stuck.

I haven't been back to Harringay for a number of years now, but it would be interesting to see how the old shop looks now.
