Yes this is a gem, but I don't see the Facade where I worked as a boy in the 60's. Perhaps those shops were built after WW2.?

This is a photo I took in 1960 with my 1959 Christmas present. The "Halina" (bought from the camera shop between the Ritz Cinema and Turnpike Lane Station) was the cheapest 35mm camera then available at £7 13s 3d!). The angle is a little different from the 1939 photo so that the Harringay Arena is mainly hidden behind St. Paul's Church.  I have tweaked the background a little so that you can see the Woodberry Down Estate. The station is now "Harringay West".

I took quite a number nearly all in 1960 at Harringay and Hornsey.  As this is not a railway enthusiasts site I am careful to post only those that may be of significant historical interest.

Just found this site. This pic is brilliant. My grandmother used to take me to the hogs back. My parents were married in St Paul's Church. I grew up in  harringay from 1951 to 1970. mum lived there all her life untill 3 months ago.

Great photo. My childhood home, no.63 Wightman would be a bit further along to the left of this picture, just past Milton Court flats which were built, I was told, after several houses were bomb damaged.
