Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Firkins Green grocers, Middle Lane c1965
Harry Firkins and sons traded at 34 Middle Lane on the corner with Elder Avenue.
From left to right this photos shows Peter Savage, Gilbert Firkins and Dennis Fisher. I'm guessing it was shot in the Sixties.
Coincidentally, I added a picture of the exterior of this same shop from half a century earlier.
The Firkins family also has a chimney sweep business on Tottenham Lane which moved to Middle Lane around the middle of the 20th Century.

Allowing for the fact we cannot fully see the price labels a quick check showed that by inflation the fruit prices have not changed much. Of course 'time to earn' may be very different.
