He had flat feet and broke one of them on a route march. I'll go through the Army records when I've more time. I find them fascinating, and give details on height and eye colour even.

Briefly:

He had flat feet and a broken instep - Dec 1916 on a route march. Treated at Manchester Military Hospital.
His NOK is noted as Wife, Emily of 95 Roseberry Gardens when he enlists previous address crossed out (42 Old Street). No obvious marriage details with her. Perhaps his mother and not wife? Perhaps just not 'obvious'.

I've found a marriage record for him.

Arthur Edwin Money married Louisa Morgan on 29 January 1918 at St Paul's Church, Harringay. They were both living at 97 Roseberry Gardens at the time and his occupation is given as 5th South Staffordshire Regiment. One of the witnesses is Rebecca Carrell.

You're all wonderful bloodhounds. Now what about that CIC private detective company idea, then?!

Not really, Hugh. It's a bit of a doddle once you have the sites, some of which are free.

I didn't get any interest on the London_Middlesex group. But of a long shot anyway. Could try Rootsweb I guess to see if we can find descendants/relations. I know I'd want to see this photo if I were them.

I've found a definite tree, though no details of the 'other' wife and fired off a message to this and one on GenesReunited:

Well - impresses me! So, we should make 25th May 'Money Day' in Harringay. Something quite nice about commemorating an ordinary Harringay Boy who wouldn't always just do what he was told.

Thanks for dropping by, Keith. If you should ever find out any more, you'd have an interested audience!

Oh, Keith, we're interested ... and patient! Let me know if you don't have access to any records and I'll take a peek too when you're back. Have a good trip.
