Fascinating! My father being a Met copper w were under a Force Medical Examiner until 1948 (arrival of NHS) when we joined the list of the excellent Dr Louis Posner of Willoughby Road. Does anyone have a picture of the house or surgery perhaps? Posner had been an army medic and the first into Auschwitz at the end of the war. Being Jewish it affected him greatly but his natural humanity was merely augmented and he was very much a firm family friend as well as doctor. On Boxing Day 1950 he visited me in the midst of an asthma attack - but he and dad played with my new train set so I think there was an ulterior motive really (beyond the sherry of course!).
