I ran The Woolpack Pub in Hertford for 3 years in the 90's. It was McMullens Brewery Tap, and was all timber and sawdust with genuine gas lighting inside and out. It looked fantastic especially at night. Very popular with tourists from all over the world. An American gentleman made a point of congratulating me on my "quaint" pub one lunchtime followed by a comment that " I thought y,all wooda got e-lectricity by now." By the way that was the 1990's in case of confusion.
