For those of us from the Warwick Gardens end of the Gardens, it's a shame that the photographers never ventured very far from Green Lanes when getting their shots..

Those gas lamp posts lasted until the 60s, although the (chandelier bit) was later changed to an automatic 'clockwork' one, which only needed winding up about once a week.

Some of those brown blinds were still about in the 60s..

When were you at Woodlands Sarah? I suppose you are too young to remember the regal Ms Rudge.. who as far as I know, taught there her whole working life, from the the late 30s to the 70s ..

Wonderful! This photo is full of what, who, why questions for me. Who are the children? Why is one apparently on crutches? What is the man giving to the boy? What 's on the other cart?

Does anyone else remember Barbara Windsor living in the Iron staircase block of flats in Roseberry Gardens ( known as Grand Parade). this was opposite to me and at the time she was with Ronnie Knight  the so called gangster. There were a lot of very posh cars calling to pick them up. She was very ordinary and friendly
