The Grand PIcture Palace was Harringay's fourth cinema and used to stand on the corner of Wightman Road and Turnpike Lane before the end of Wightman Road was widened with the road alignment/crossroads alignment in 1972.
I suppose it was in order to make Wightman Road a more efficient feeder road to the car park of the newly developed Shopping City in Wood Green.

I'd been unable to find a picture of this cinema. So, thanks to Jeremy Buck for this photo in whose book 'Cinemas of Haringey' this appears.
