Clissold Park to the right. On the left the large old houses, now replaced with council housing. In the distance are the towers of William Chadwell Mylne's (former) New River pumping station, inspired by Stirling Castle. Below is the pumping station at around the same time.

Superb photos! From 1955 until ’75 I lived on the Highbury Quadrant estate, so the locations are familiar.
Nice advert on the tram for Hackney manufactured Jarrett & Goudge pianos. I went to school with a member of the Goudge family.

So opposite those park gates they built the White House Pub on the corner. On the other corner was where Highbury Quadrant Estate was built!
