Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I just went past 333 Green Lanes on the bus and the builders have uncovered this rather nice old painted Fish Bar sign. In recent years this shop has been Valentines cafe, then a very short lived Italian trattoria, then a buffet style kebab shop and more recently a ladies clothes shop! I wonder what they'll try here next.

Hi. Sorry it seemed to upload before I added the title. It's just past Endymion Rd on the left

Fabulous sign. Ditto to wishing it was a fish bar!!! Please someone make it so!

Thanks for that Rich. There are a couple more 'old signs revealed' that have been added to the gallery in the past. I've added a tag to this photo so you can see them too.

I took a snap of this today and was planning on forwarding it on to HOL - It made me imagine thousands of people pouring out of the Harringay Stadium or Arena to get their fill. Lovely?
By the way Georges Fish Bar on St Anns Road opposite the Salisbury Pub is obviously the missing link to you guys. Good enough for us on Wednesday nights after swimming? yum yum

There's a good fish bar opposite the mosque on Wightman.  Fish and chips are cooked fresh, not stored on hot shelf. Consequently you may have to wait 10 minutes but it's worth it. Small portions at reduced price for the grey-haired indigents.

Stephen, the view from the bus of all the Satellite dishes on that bit of Green Lanes makes me realise that many of our fellow residents just come here to watch TV from home.

lol, John and not only in the UK..

There's something to be said for the good old days before sat dishes & Internet TV, when immigrants, like me, had to make do with a diet of local TV stations.. it did help learning the language and perhaps stopped people living in their 'bubbles'.

For its next incarnation it looks like the shop is going to be a computer repair shop
