Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Looking west from the eastern end of the road. The wall on the far right of the photo is the one running alongside the back garden of 1 Willoughby Road.

The chimney in the distance is the 200 ft chimney that was erected at the newly built Hornsey Electricity station on Tottenham Lane in 1903.

This image replaces a rather inferior quality one originally posted in 2009.

Amazing perspective effect - the chimney seems almost to be where North Harringay school is!

I went to North Harringay School 1959-65. I do not know when it was built but it would be on the left side in the distance if it was there at the date of the photo.

I had left by 1954 but walked up the road every day from 1948. Yes, like the power station chimney, it was on the left side as viewed in this image.
