Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

A poor quality image, but a rare one. It was shot just near the junction with Wood Green High Road, looking north west up Mayes Road. The large building on the left is the Salvation Army Citadel that stood near the junction with Alexandra Road.

The terrace on shops on the right of the photo can also be seen in this photo.

Mayes Road was truncated during the development of Shopping City and no longer joins the High Road. You can see what happened in the explanation accompanying this image.

Fantastic picture. I remember walking up and down the entire Mayes Rd.
