Does this mean that the line didn't use Standard ( 4' 81/2 ") gauge ?

When the line opened in August 1850 there were just a pair of tracks, one up to London and one down to the north. In the early 1870's, two additional tracks were laid on the outside of the original up and down tracks to ease congestion. The photograph shows the train on the new down slow line. The line to the right of the train is the original down line which became the down fast.

In 1900 the down platform shown was turned into an island platform when the down goods line behind the fence became the down slow No2. All lines/tracks on the Great Northern Railway were laid to standard gauge.

Does anyone know if the old Wood Green station is now Alexandra Palace Station?
