Curious onlookers pose for a photo at the wreckage of a Junkers 88 at the Printers Almshouses, at top of Jolly Butcher's Hill.
I suspect that the aircraft was recovered from elsewhere, perhaps nearby, and brought to the centre of Wood Green for propaganda purposes.

I don’t remember this German Aircraft incident at Wood Green and I glad to see this picture but I can’t understand how the V2 Rocket that fell on the Mansions in Greenland’s Harringay near the Salisbury Hotel. That I mentioned last time I wrote, that no one can remember it ..????????
Classic image of the day - the chap on the right thoughtfully chewing his pipe...
Retired (on Friday).............when did you mention the V2 Rocket incident ? I would be interested to read that.
Hi John, I did mention about the V2 Rocket dropping ( 1944 ) on the mansion in Harringay Green Lanes, when I first read the Wood Green incident, which was about 3 weeks ago. I would also like to mention that I did talk about an explosion in the Harringay Ice Cream Parlour, which happened back in 1952. I remember it well because one of my best friends was in the Parlour at the very same time, I know he was in Hospital for quite some time and when he did get out, he had one leg shorter than the other. I just can’t understand why no one seems to remember any of these incident and no News Papers reports ..????????
