Excellent point, Peter. I hadn't even considered the sunlight in the window. Talking of windows, there is a corner house that can be seen on 'Street View' in the same area on Clifton Rd / Wolesley Rd. It is a very similar style corner window as in the photo. I haven't looked far from the route but, as far as I can tell, this style of window appears to be specific to this area.
Hugh, do you have any views or thoughts? Can you conjure up some information on this area that would strengthen or weaken the possibilities of it being the correct location?

It looks plausible, but that 'tower' section looks like it's on the corner of the building. The 'tower' on the corner of the Coolhurst house looks to be rectangular. I also looked had a quick at the Shepherds Hill houses which may be worth a more considered examination (one or two of them were huge!)
