Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Where I Lived from 1950-1975 was named Thursby's Butchers at the time

This is where i lived between 1950-73. Attended South Harringay & North Harringay Schools. It used to be called Thursby's butcher shop and then renamed, but i can't remember what it was called in the 70's. It stood between Warham Rd to the right of picture and Pemberton Rd to the left.

So that would be just about opposite where Iceland is now.Do you remember why part of Grand Parade was demolished to build Iceland? I'm assuming that it was a development of 'progress'.

Woolworths used to be located where Iceland is now.
