Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I don't have an exact date for this photo. I have a few clues.
1. Dylan Thomas House in the distance, was demolished in 1998.
2. The wisdom of the internet tells me that petrol was 37p per litre in 1986.
3. The 'C reg' Vauxhall travelling along the road was registered in 1986.

What do you think?

I recall petrol shortages in 1970s when you had to go to one petrol station. Mine was Tottenham Lane and queues were huge. I didn't rely on car too much back then but it was a real inconvenience. Don't remember similar in the 1980s. Great photo

That must be the Railway with the yard and the one-time Lotus works to the right.

I don't recall 'Having' to go to one petrol station or any real inconvenience and I drove everywhere.

The 70s were a bad decade for oil. The 73 OPEC crisis (the Oil Producing and Exporting Countries) had an embargo and price hike, the 76 Yon Kippur War between Israel and Egypt sent things haywire and it was never the same again. But it hastened the arrival of North Sea Oil and Gas. Sadly Mrs Thatcher saw this as a money tree and wasted most of the advantage.
