Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Barratts Wood Green | a Half Century

I'm guessing that the top photo was taken in around 1900 and the bottom one in around 1950. I notice that the top of the building has lost its Victorian flourishes already.

Comment by Michele on February 12, 2018 at 14:15: When I worked in Station road around 1981/2, after Barratts had closed down, one day we noticed a couple of guys removing tiles etc from the roof - can't remember if police were called, its too long ago., but I seem to think they were.

Comment by Reginald summers on October 18, 2024 at 12:17: Barratts used to build their own bodywork for their trucks, they used to transfer the old bodies when the time came from the old trucks to a brand new chassis cab.
