Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Delivery Cart for Bambridge's Bakery, Harringay, c1905

I'm not sure where the cart is standing, but the bakery was at 595 Green Lanes at the bottom of Beresford (in what is half of what is now Beans and Barley.

Comment by John Shulver yesterday: The board behind the horse possibly reads "Saloon.......???, " I immediately thought it read 'Salon' (as in 'Bal') but on closer inspection it looks like double o. But then the building frontage looks nothing like the Salon Bal on Salisbury Parade that we knew. Was there an earlier building on that site Hugh ? I remember collecting hot fresh loaves of bread and hot cross buns from somewhere in vicinity of bottom of Beresford in the '50s. Wouldn't have a clue to name though.

Comment by Hugh 17 hours ago: My assumption is that the cart was parked along the side of a pub. There’s a bit of a road name sign above the horse’s back, but not enough to work out what it says. I can’t place it as being at the Railway, Beaconsfield,Queen’s Head, Unwin Arms or Salisbury.
