My brother in law had a Green Grocers in between the two pubs for many years from 1960's.

His name was Brian Abbott I can find out if it was called anything other than Abbott's, I just remember it being in the middle of the two pubs.

I seem to remember that there was a hardware shop called Tuck & Norris (or something like that) either on the corner of Acacia Rd or very close by. They might have even occupied two premises or I could be confusing them with someone else.

Looks like the name survives operating out of a house on Truro Road, though the "30 years experience' strap line suggests that they may noyt be related to the Lordship Lane lot.

I grew up on Acacia Road and can confirm that Tuck and Norris was on the corner of Lordship Lane and Acacia Road! The son (Alan?) took over the business from his father and then moved it out only a few years ago; the '30 years' could be referring to his own experience in the business rather than the historical family's?

Tony, I emailed Tuck & Norris and yesterday spoke with Alan. You're right about the Lordship Lane premises covering more than one shop. It started in 618 then expanded into 620 (The old Lordship Tavern premises on the corner of Acacia Road).
