Manor House Transport Junction

The Manor House junction was served by trams from the 1880s until 1952. Trams on Seven Sisters Road used overhead current collection (wires) as did those on Green Lanes north of the junction. Trams on Green Lanes to the south of the Manor House junction used the conduit system of current collection. The first trolleybuses served Manor House in 1936, when route 623 to Woodford was introduced. By the end of 1958, trolleybus traffic had increased to more than 310 through buses and 18 turning 623's per hour in morning peaks Monday to Friday. Other scheduled turns were uncommon - a solitary 653 in the morning peak MF, a few Sunday turns on routes 627, 659 and 679 in later years, and a couple of 659 turns on Christamas Day - but many football extras turned here in season for Tottenham Hotspur's home games.
