Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

This image from the Illustrated London News in 1948 shows the Arena looking south east over the corner of the Stadium (think Arena Shopping park across the edge of Sainsbury's Car park.

To the left of the Arena you can see the vacant ground where McDonalds is now.

In front of the Arena, is the one-storey Harringay Market buildings, erected in 1929. For any doubters reading, this circus programme from around the same time refers to the building as Harringay Market. Also in the London Gazette on 6th January 1959 (on a section listing forthcoming land registrations) , the building was confirmed as 'The Harringay Market Buildings"
