Using London clay, goat, cow and horse dung we build this adobe wall with young farmers and ex offenders on a city farm. The wall provides an enclosure for the forrest school and protects the pond, as well as creating a eco-climate, and natiral barrier to sound from our bustling metropolis.
Great to see this and the earth oven. When I studied for my Architecture degree at Plymouth they had a specialism in earthen architecture. We regularly did experiments in the uni garden. Its a great material to use for buildings. Is this at Hackney City Farm? Would love to take a look?
Great clay for building - as I would guess our ancient forbears agreed. Horrid for gardens.
