Hi Meryl - well I am going to guess that one way or another our paths and your cousin may well have crossed. I lived in Frobisher from 46 to 64! And while I cannot recall where Janet Savage lived your idea is entirely possible!

Richard Woods....the years can be cruel eh ?  I too had hair at that age !  I doubt if we met though because you are a 'couple' years older than me but "passed"....who knows.  It was a busy neighbourhood.

Only just clicked but we never ever called it 'Ducketts Common' in those days. The Ritz was always Turnpike Lane. To us living next to it the common was exactly that and never an area; even the West Green Pleasance (Plasaunce in those days) and the area was always called West Green Road. 

By the way Hugh - this might make an interesting sideline sometime - "We know where you mean but what did you call it?"
