We put an offer in on this house a few years ago. The previous owner told us that it had been a sweet shop. I never imagined it looked like this tho! What a great photo. Am going to print it off and give a copy to the current owner. Thanks

Is this the shop on the corner of Conway Road?
If it is, both Chris Smith and I have fond memories of it as kids..

The then very old owners, used to sell ha'penny lollies and most of us kids at Woodlands would buy them during break time. We used to get their attention by shouting through a gate, after which the owner would come over to the school, cigarette in mouth, making about 6d... :o) I don't think our teachers would have approved if they'd have noticed.

I attended Woodlands Park Juniors 1956-60 and a beautiful girl by name of Mary lived here though by then I think the shop was no longer trading.    Myself and another HoL member (name escapes me now) both fell in love with Mary.   Happy memories.     But what a fantastic old photo that is !  And few years later, 65ish, I met a lad by name of Huff who lived in Pemberton Road.   Must've been related, surely ??
